Patrik Laine was on the receiving end of one of the biggest hits of the season courtesy of Jake McCabe. Laine was entering the neutral zone and trying to corral a puck when he committed a cardinal sin in hockey – he had his head down. McCabe stepped up and delivered an absolute monster hit.
As you might imagine, the Jets weren’t too happy seeing their star get rocked and went after a few Sabres players. There was some pushing, shoving and a few players down on the ice, but the end result wasn’t as noteworthy as the hit itself.
