NHL agent Allan Walsh decided to voice concerns about client Jaroslav Halak and the New York Islanders carrying three goaltenders on Twitter and it’s fair to assume Isles GM Garth Snow wasn’t enthused.
Walsh called out the Islanders carrying three goalies, Halak, Thomas Greiss and Jean-Francois Berube, for the second straight season. He blasted Snow’s roster decision, saying carrying three goaltenders has affected practice time.
Hard to figure out NY Islanders using 3 goalie system for 2nd year. Biggest issue is goalies don't get enough practice time to stay sharp.

Starting goalie for NY Islanders last game had only 1 quality practice in last 5 days before Penguins game. Going on 2 years of this now.

Walsh is looking out for his client, but publicly expressing concern about the Islanders’ goaltending situation wasn’t the best idea. Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.ca reported soon after the tweets that Snow made Halak available as a direct result of the comments.

Walsh is no stranger to using Twitter to call out teams, as he’s responsible for the Jonathan Drouin fiasco last season. Halak might be unhappy with New York’s practice situation, but his agent using Twitter to blast Snow isn’t going to do him any favors. Greiss and Halak have started every game for the Islanders this season, so whether the practice situation is unfavorable, his client isn’t getting shafted. Walsh put his client in an awkward situation.
Halak should draw interest, but considering his struggles to stay healthy and Greiss’ strong play over recent seasons, his status might not be worth the fuss. What was Walsh thinking?
