The San Jose Sharks made news last season when they had a Brent Burns Chia Pet giveaway as apart of their promotional schedule. The club took the traditional thought of giveaways (rally towels, shirts, etc) and turned it on its head with a unique item which got fans and the hockey world talking.
What are they doing for an encore? They are bringing back the Chia Pet in the form of Joe Thornton, but the more noteworthy item on the recently released list might be the Brent Burns Grill giveaway.
We don’t mean the type of grill you’d barbeque on.
If the idea of fans receiving a grill with missing teeth sounds too ridiculous to believe, here’s the inclusion of the grill giveaway announced from the Sharks’ Twitter account.

The grill giveaway might just amount to a prop you’d expect to see around Halloween, but it’s going to get people talking. The Sharks are straying so far from the norm (perhaps too far – what do you do with this thing?) and they at least deserve credit for trying to be creative.
Of course the question has to be asked: How will the Sharks top this idea in 2017-18?
