Well that didn’t take very long, huh? The Lake Erie Warriors, who debuted a less than appropriate logo the other day is already back tracking on that logo. They didn’t just change the logo either as they changed the entire damn name. I don’t think they particularly realize why they needed to change their logo since they decided to change it all.
They are now the Lake Erie Gulls.
Apparently though, this isn’t a permanent logo as the league Twitter account had an interaction with Erie-Times News hocker reporter Victor Fernandes. An entire rebrand seems like a lot but apparently after seeing the backlash they decided to remove themselves fully from the idea of the Warriors.
I will reiterate what I thought happened before: This team thought that in no way shape or form would anyone notice that logo at all. They got caught and are now trying to clean up a situation that didn’t have to happen in the first place if they just ran this by someone outside of the club. I am sure this is the last time we will hear from this franchise for a long time. Best of luck in your future endeavors Lake Erie Gulls.
