The Stanley Cup has been through a lot. It’s been tossed across a canal, it’s been lit on fire, it’s been used as a bowl for just about everything and the Penguins recently dented it after hoisting it at the end of the 2015-16 season.
Now, thanks to goaltender Jeff Zatkoff, it’s been down a water slide.

They didn’t set any speed records, but then again one doesn’t normally take a 35-pound trophy down a water slide.
Was this the first time the Cup has been down a water slide? Everyone is pretty familiar with the “Cup in Mario Lemieux’s pool” story, but there doesn’t appear to be any widely known stories involving the Cup and a slide. Maybe this video will inspire others to take it down a larger, more impressive slides in the future.

Zatkoff patrolled the crease in 14 games for the Penguins in 2015-16 and has already signed a new deal with the LA Kings for the 2016-17 season. Though his time with the Penguins has come to an end, it’s nice to see he’s still celebrating their Cup win this summer.
