Logan Couture accuses Sidney Crosby of cheating on faceoffs

The San Jose Sharks haven’t shied away from making some blunt and controversial comments during the playoffs this season. Most of those have come from head coach Pete DeBoer, but Logan Couture got in on the action by accusing Sidney Crosby of cheating during faceoffs.

That’s the type of comment you’d expect to hear from a fan, particularly the part about Crosby getting away with cheating because of who he is. Opposing fans have long criticized the NHL for giving Crosby the benefit of the doubt on plays because he has been one of the league’s most marketable player. It’s kind of strange to hear such a comment on the league’s biggest stage.

This type of mentality isn’t good to see if you’re a Sharks fan. Along with a 2-0 hole, Couture is already making excuses for why his team is being bested. He may be trying to throw some attention on what he feels is an injustice, but it also reveals that the Penguins are getting inside the Sharks’ heads.

Should the Sharks fall in the Final, the post-game interviews should be pretty entertaining.
