Video: Roman Polak pushes a ref after battling Barret Jackman

Roman Polak and Barret Jackman used to be pretty close teammates when they both skated for the St. Louis Blues. That love has been lost as the two are now on opposing sides in the Sharks-Predators playoff series.

As the game concluded and the Sharks started to celebrate their 5-1 win in Game 5, Polak and Jackman exchanged punches. The ref quickly tried to separate the two and Polak wasn’t too happy about it.

The shove won’t get additional discipline, but it was a pretty risky move by Polak. With the game already decided and the series in favor of the Sharks, there’s absolutely no reason to risk receiving a suspension by pushing an official. There’s really no circumstance where pushing an official – especially so intentionally – makes sense.
