As I noted the other day, Bryan Murray would be stepping down as GM and Pierre Dorion would be taking over that role. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that with his new role that he wanted to bring in someone different as head coach.
What we didn’t expect was the fact that they would fire every coach on that bench including the assistants. Ouch.
Dorion on 1200 says there's no timeline for hiring a coach. Hiring the proper person is of the most importance.

A lot of names are being tossed around right now for the job and it is way too early for anything concrete to be put in place. The name that has been around for the past couple of years is Luke Richardson and he would make sense as a successor and brings Senators pedigree – something owner Eugene Melnyk loves. A name like Claude Julien is intriguing as he is still currently employed by the Bruins but his name has been attached to nearly every Canadian job. I can’t confirm whether or not he has been nominated yet for Prime Minister.
Speaking of Prime Minister, Dave Cameron is also the name of the Prime Minister in the United Kingdom. When news came down on Reddit, many people thought that the Prime Minster had been ousted in a bit of shocking news. Unfortunately for his critics he is still in office. The Senators head coach is the one with the bad news for today.
What an odd, odd day. Hopefully the Senators find their man soon.
