The 10 most popular NHL jerseys in 2015-16

If you are a hockey fan, you probably own a jersey. They may cost a whole lot of money, but they are the one thing that each team has that differentiates you from the pack. That is why hockey is so unique in the fact that all of the jersey’s are so darn different. So, what jerseys were fans buying this year? Anyone completely out of the norm on the best selling list?

The only big time surprise is Connor McDavid, but you can’t be too surprised that the number one pick is in the top-10 of jersey sales. I am surprised that the greatest player in the game right now, Sidney Crosby, is so low. Maybe Pittsburgh fans have his jersey already and don’t need anymore? Who knows.

The inclusion of two Rangers seems odd until you realize that New York is really, really big. The only player to make it from an untraditional market was Zach Parise, who has made a mark on the NHL from his time with New Jersey and Team USA.

I hope this list changes over the next couple of years as the league continues to get infused with new talent. Couple of my picks for some up and comers that can move into the top-10 are Dylan Larkin and Jack Eichel. They are going to be stars and play on a couple of clubs starving for players like that. One or both could experience a sophomore slump next year, but I don’t expect that to detract from their jersey sales.

Who do you think can sneak into the top-10 over the next couple of years?
