Report: Toronto Maple Leafs will get new logos/jerseys next year

Today it was announced by SportsLogos.net that the Toronto Maple Leafs would be getting a new logo for the first time in over 45 years. This announcement comes just in time for the 100th anniversary of the franchise. Many traditionalists may scoff at the idea of a new logo especially since the Leafs are one of the most if not the most iconic franchise in the NHL.

The team will also roll out new uniforms to go along with the new logo.

Naturally, people around the league are starting to have fun with the idea of what a possible new jersey could look like.

Obviously the renderings from The Leafs Nation are not real, but what a coup that would be if they were able to get the new logo and Steven Stamkos in the same year. As much as we hate the media obsession of the Leafs it is an ongoing drama that constantly brings entertainment. The logo could end up being the best thing in the world and I am sure that the fans will still find a way to complain about it.

The guys over at Sports Logo believe it will be a hybrid of some of the renderings they have already used this year in different campaigns shared with the public.

Either way, the change will be fun for the NHL and the fans as this should bring in a new era for the Maple Leafs and the league.
