Hockey Tweets of the Week – Week 6

Welcome to hockey’s Tweets of the Week for week six of the National Hockey League season. We continue to give you the best tweets from the plugged in from the hockey world. This week, we give you …

The Montreal Canadiens Winter Classic Jerseys

Now it has to be said that most people on Twitter seemed to like the Habs white winter sweaters. And truth be told, I kinda do too. But we all know that positive tweets on the internet aren’t nearly as funny as the negative ones. (Sorry, truth hurts.)

So …

Yes. They’ll kill you if you leave your knives unlocked.

Wouldn’t it be hysterical if we found out the NHL drew up their jersey demos from crayon drawings on refrigerators? That would explain this:

Also, a two parter …

Then … and only then … can you have your sweaters drawn up by a five year old.

What Happened To The Chicago Blackhawks?

It may be early in the season, but the quarter pole is coming up fast. And the Chicago Blackhawks … the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks … were in sixth place in the Central division early in the week. Sixth! If it wasn’t for Colorado they would be living in their parents’ basement eating Cheetos and looking for a job.

And if that wasn’t enough, Corey Crawford gave up three first period goals to the Devils on Friday and all hell broke loose.

Robot goalies are the future anyway.

It got so bad that Jonathan Toews threw down.

You know how bad it is for the Blackhawks?

That’s right. The fans are counting down the days to getting Michal Rozsival back. The asteroid can’t be far behind.

Patrick Roy

Speaking of the Avalanche …

Yes, Patrick Roy has the ability to do this for realz.

Fun With Logos at Barclays Center

The next two tweets from Sunday are either evidence of carelessness or genius revenge for every time a hockey logo got replaced by a logo from the wrong sport:

The Jets’ Fenwick rating must have been through the roof.

It’s because Jagr brought the mullet back.

The Roberto Luongo Tweet Of The Week

Look, if you think that Strombone is going to mess up my feature by not tweeting regularly, you’re so wrong. So here now … in the absence of a fresh tweet … is my Roberto Luongo Tweet Of The Week:

Take that, Luongo. More where that came from buddy. Now go tweet.

Memorable For One, Not For All

Andreas Athanasiou scored his first NHL goal on Tuesday. It was one he’ll remember for the rest of his life.

Braden Holtby, hopefully, has already forgotten it:

Poor Erik Karlsson

This happened on Wednesday:

And that led to this brilliance:

It was part of a blown 5-4 lead by Ottawa which led to a 7-5 Predators win.

Corsi-ing it up? Sens could have used you against Nashville.

She could have played better defense, I’m guessing.

And Finally …

The Dallas Stars have one of the best sense of humors in hockey. And they took a jab at the Toronto Maple Leafs regarding the incident where a baby was hit with a beer during Game 5 of the playoff series between the Blue Jays and the Texas Rangers:

The Leafs, believe it or not, got the last laugh. Not just because they won the game 3-2, but because of this:

Something tells me that this is going to be the bat flip that keeps on flipping.

See you next week.
