Video: Ducks prospect Max Jones ejected for cross-check to Jonah Gadjovich’s face

Anaheim Ducks prospect Max Jones lost his temper in a recent OHL game between the London Knights and the Owen Sound Attack and it resulted in a brutal attack on Jonah Gadjovich. Jones wasn’t too pleased that Gadjovich was still fighting for the puck in his team’s crease and it led to a slash to the back of the legs and a cross-check to the face.

That’s just ugly.

Jones should see a hefty suspension following this one considering he chased Gadjovich down, slashed him once in the legs and then cross-checked him in the face before continuing to pummel him with punches after he was down on the ice.

Jones has a bit of an ugly reputation growing around his game and it’s one he’ll need to shed to succeed at a higher professional level. Some have compared his style to Matthew Tkachuk of the Calgary Flames, but he tends to skate more on the wrong side of the line than he should. Jones could be effective at the NHL level if his game grows as it could, but he needs to clean his act up before that can happen.
