AHL game postponed after Roadrunners captain Craig Cunningham collapses before opening faceoff, rushed to hospital

Scary scene tonight in Tucson tonight as Craig Cunningham, captain of the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners, collapsed on the ice right before the opening faceoff and had to be rushed to the hospital.

There’s no news yet on what happened to Cunningham, just this account courtesy of Tucson.com:

Medics worked on Cunningham, who was lying on his back, and cut away his jersey. They performed chest compressions before moving him off the ice. Both teams returned to their locker rooms.

The Roadrunners game against the Manitoba Moose was postponed as everyone awaits word on the health of Cunningham, a former NHL player with the Boston Bruins and the Arizona Coyotes. Here’s hoping for a good outcome.
