Video: John Carlson scores thanks to a weird bounce off the glass

This might be the easiest goal John Carlson will ever score in his NHL career. Carlson dumped the puck in off the glass, hoping to get the puck in deep so his team could make a line change. Pittsburgh goaltender Tomas Vokoun left his crease, ready to play the puck behind the net only to find the puck had taken an awkward bounce off a stanchion, sending it directly at the now empty net.

As the puck crossed the line, Vokoun lost his balance, creating the rather humorous scene of a goal being scored with the goaltender sprawled out behind his own cage. A similar play almost occurred earlier in the game, meaning Vokoun probably should have been prepared for such a crazy bounce.

Take note opposing goaltenders – expect the unexpected when it comes to the glass in Washington.
