Bruins/Penguins game postponed due to Boston lockdown

The Boston Bruins – Pittsburgh Penguins game scheduled for 7:00pm ET on Friday night in the TD Garden has been postponed. The entire city of Boston has been locked down and in a state of high alert Friday due to a massive hunt for one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects. This followed a night of violence which sprawled through several Boston neighborhoods late Thursday night and into Friday morning.

The game has been tentatively rescheduled for Saturday at 12:30pm ET at the Garden. If the current situation in Boston isn't resolved by Saturday morning, it's highly likely the game will be pushed further back. The NHL has shifted Pittsburgh's game against Buffalo which was originally set for Saturday night over to Tuesday night, as seen in numerous reports.

Both the Bruins and Penguins canceled their morning skates on Friday due to the manhunt. During the announcement that the morning skate was called off, players were reportedly told to stay home and more importantly, stay safe.

Today's postponement is the second this week for the Bruins as their tilt with the Ottawa Senators scheduled for Monday night was postponed and later rescheduled for April 28th due to the attack.
