Mathieu Schneider practically invented the “Puck Gary” hats

Remember week before last when some members of the Montreal Canadiens started to wear "Puck Gary!" hats to skates? Remember how there was concern that it could undermine the NHLPA's message? Well, take it from former player and curent NHLPA assistant to the special director Mathieu Schneider — he's done it before, and it ended up ok. Heck, you could say Schneider is the forefather to the "Puck Gary" movement. Why? Well, from Redditor GMoney1393 comes this Facebook find:

Well, then. Sure it's low-tech and not as fancy as it is nowadays, but it's funny how the message is the same… from 18 years ago. I'm pretty sure that there are some variants of this from the 2004-2005 lockout too, but coming from one of hockey's nice guys and, funnily enough, at the time a Hab himself — well, that says a lot. Maybe people in Montreal just don't like Bettman or something. No clue as to why not.

The more things change…
